For almost eighty years, only incomplete manuscripts of this work were known to exist, but in 2007, the Eastman School of Music acquired a manuscript that had been in private hands since Howard Hanson´s widow´s death in 1996. Carl Fischer Music has now made this important work available to the world. Most notably, the final movement is well-known as one of the first symphonic band compositions by an American composer: "Triumphal Ode".
