Sunk in thought the composersketches his prevision: the development of hissmall grandson growing up to be an adult man.After a brilliant introduction, a slow march follows,which symbolises the first steps toward adulthood.Aspects such as love and a sense of security, thatare indispensable for a positive development, arepresented in a calm middle section, after which anenergetic closing part refers to the rebelliousnessof an adolescent. The grand finale of Previsionexpresses the grandfather’s and composer’spositive picture of the future.
